It’s probably an understatement that I wasn’t very good at math in high school. That’s why it was all the more rewarding to help set up a service that helps students feel more confident in math and economics.

From years of experiencing frustrated students and rushed teaching, Guus Hageman wanted to help students become more confident. He wanted to help them understand math and economics with a personal approach focussed on the student. He had a name and I helped him set up the company.

The first step was clarifying what Instituut Hageman should represent. It would have to convey professionalism but at the same time meet students at their level with a patient and friendly character.

Judge a book by its cover
For better or worse, people do judge books by their cover and the cover of this website speaks for itself. The smiling girl, the vibrant colours and the tag line ('You can learn anything with the right help') create an optimistic expectation for even the most desperate students.

Old-school for the schools
To reach more students at their own school buildings we also created the staple of every traditional promotion campaign: Business cards, flyers, and a banner.
